The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has directed the Principal of Enchi College of Education to hand over the administration of the college, effective January 13, 2025. This directive comes after the Principal attained the compulsory retirement age of 60 years on January 11, 2025.¹

According to the directive, the Vice Principal, Dr. Emmanuel Adom Ashun, will take over as the acting Principal of the college with immediate effect. The college has also been instructed to initiate the process of appointing a substantive Principal.

The GTEC has expressed its gratitude to the outgoing Principal for their dedicated service to the college. This development is part of the commission's efforts to ensure the smooth operation of tertiary institutions in Ghana.

As the governing body responsible for regulating and coordinating tertiary education in Ghana, GTEC plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality and standards of education in the country.² The commission's directive is a testament to its commitment to upholding these standards and ensuring a seamless transition of leadership in tertiary institutions.
