In a remarkable display of dedication and patriotism, 65-year-old Alhaji Yakubu Ayaana has embarked on an extraordinary journey, walking over 250 kilometers from Kumasi to Accra to attend the inauguration of President-elect John Dramani Mahama ¹. This feat is not only a testament to Alhaji Ayaana's physical endurance but also a symbol of his unwavering support for the incoming president.

Alhaji Ayaana, a renowned businessman and philanthropist from Tamale, began his three-day walk on January 5, with the goal of arriving in Accra on January 7, just in time for the swearing-in ceremony ². His journey is not just about attending the inauguration but also about honoring President-elect Mahama's victory in the 2024 presidential election.

This is not Alhaji Ayaana's first notable walk. In 1997, he undertook a similar trek to commemorate former President Jerry John Rawlings' second-term inauguration. He also organized a 16-kilometer peace and health walk in Tamale on Independence Day in 1999 to promote national unity and health ³.

As Alhaji Ayaana continues his journey, he hopes to inspire others to prioritize physical fitness and national cohesion. His remarkable story serves as a reminder that age is just a number, and with determination and passion, anyone can achieve their goals.
